Documentation

Documentation is a professional responsibility for parish nurses. Here you will find a few resources providing information on the value and methods of documentation for the parish nursing practice.

"Documenting the Practice"
This chapter by Bethany Johnson, Patti Ludwig-Beymer, and Wendy Tuzik Micek, in Parish Nursing: Promoting Whole Person Health Within Faith Communities (Sage Publications, 2000), addresses why nurses document, documentation requirements, the process for developing a documentation system, lessons learned, and adapting documentation for specific parish nurse situations. This text may be available at your local library, at local bookstores, or order from Sage Publications by calling customer service at 800-818-SAGE.
