MEDLINEplus Health Information: Eyes and Vision Topics
MEDLINEplus provides quality health care information from the world’s largest medical library, the National Library of Medicine at the National Institutes of Health. This page provides links to MEDLINEPlus consumer health information on a variety of vision health topics. Examples include vision disorders and blindness, cataracts, glaucoma, eye cancer, eye wear, laser eye surgery, and refractive errors.

Ask NOAH About: The Eye
New York Online Access to Health (NOAH) is a project of four New York partners: The City University of New York, The Metropolitan New York Library Council, The New York Academy of Medicine and The New York Public Library. This site provides links to quality information on a variety of eye health topics, including basic eye health, common vision problems, eye care and treatment, vision correction, and others.

National Eye Institute
The National Eye Institute is one of the governments Institutes for Health located in Bethesda, Maryland. This site provides coverage of many topics for both the public and health care workers. The health information section provides information on eye diseases and disorders, eye care resources, materials written in Spanish, and an interactive eye diagram.Educational Programs for the diabetic eye, gluacoma, and low vision can also be found on this site.

Maryland Society for Sight
The mission of the Maryland Society for Sight (MSS) is to prevent blindness and preserve sight for all Marylanders regardless of economic or geographic limitations. The MSS carries out this mission by educating the general public, health care professionals and policy makers about injury prevention and early detection and by serving as an umbrella organization that can answer questions and refer people to the services they need. National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped
This service from the Library of Congress is a free library program of Braille and audio materials circulated to eligible borrowers in the United States by postage-free mail. For local resources, visit the Maryland State Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped or the Montgomery County Special Needs Library. These library collections include categories of popular fiction and nonfiction, best sellers, the classics, poetry, history, biographies, religious literature, children's books, books in foreign languages, and popular magazines.
