MEDLINEplus provides quality health care information from the worlds
largest medical library, the National Library of Medicine at the National
Institutes of Health. This page provides links to general information and
overviews, coping resources, information on specific aspects of nursing home
care, links to directories and organizations, and statistics. Spanish resource
are also available.
Nursing
Home Compare
The primary purpose of this tool is to provide detailed information about
the performance of every Medicare and Medicaid certified nursing home in the
country. Nursing Home Compare provides detailed information about the nursing
home, including the number of beds and type of ownership; the residents; inspection
results, including summary results from the last state nursing home inspection;
and the nursing home staff, including the number of registered nurses, licensed
practical or vocational nurses, and nursing assistants in each nursing home.

This is a resource guide produced by the Maryland Attorney General along with
several Maryland agencies and legal organizations to help individuals evaluate
nursing homes and alternatives, plan finances, and discuss family wishes.
Chapter 10, Where
to Get Help provides contact information for nursing home assistance organizations
by county. This booklet requires the free

or a loved one. Narrow your search by state (up to three states) or country,
or search for a specific residence (company name) or a specific chain (parent
