American
Diabetes Association (ADA)
The mission of the ADA is "to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve
the lives of all people affected by diabetes." This site has information
arranged by topic, which include background on the different types of diabetes,
information for the newly diagnosed, living with diabetes, ADA programs, information

Joslin Diabetes Center at University of Maryland Medicine
The Joslin Center's reflects a comprehensive team approach to diabetes treatment
with programs designed to help children and adults with diabetes take charge
of their own health and well-being. This site provides information on the Center's
services for adults and children, as well as research news and information on
classes offered through their education and support program. It also features
a diabetes self-test, facts about diabetes, and links to other Web resources.
Maryland
Diabetes Prevention and Control Program
This site provides basic diabetes information, listings of outpatient diabetes
programs in Maryland by county, statistical information on diabetes in Maryland,
and related links.
African Americans and Diabetes
The African American Program is the American Diabetes Association's targeted
approach to increase awareness of the seriousness of diabetes and the importance
of making healthy lifestyle choices such as moving more and eating healthier.
