MEDLINEplus: Cancer Topics
MEDLINEplus provides quality health care information from the world’s largest medical library, the National Library of Medicine at the National Institutes of Health. This page has links to MEDLINEplus consumer health information on many types of cancer. Examples include general cancer, breast cancer, cancer chemotherapy, colon cancer, cervical cancer, prostate cancer, Kaposi's Sarcoma, and others.

Ask NOAH About: Cancer
New York Online Access to Health (NOAH) is a project of four New York partners: The City University of New York, The Metropolitan New York Library Council, The New York Academy of Medicine and The New York Public Library. This page provides links to quality information on a variety of cancer topics, including the basics, genetics, prevention, statistics, types of cancer, clinical trials, diet and nutrition, complications, and others.

HS/HSL Cancer Web Sites for Consumers
In an effort to help consumers identify reliable Web sites, the Health Sciences and Human Services Library (HS/HSL) has released its list of Cancer Web Sites. The list was compiled by information specialists at the Library. We encourage you to look over the list and annotations, then use the links to get to the sites.

The American Cancer Society
Founded in 1913, the American Cancer Society supports education and research in cancer prevention, diagnosis, detection and treatment. Its web page provides news, information on types of cancer, patient services, treatment options, sections on children with cancer and living with cancer, and cancer statistics. Also available in Spanish. Click on In My Community to find information about American Cancer Society programs and support services that are available in your community (search by zip code).

Maryland Cancer Registry (MCR)
MCR is a computerized data system which registers all cases of reportable human cancers diagnosed or treated in Maryland. This site from the Maryland Community and Public Health Administration provides facts about specific types of cancers in Maryland, and links to resources for cancer information and publications.

Information Guides from the University of Maryland Medicine (UMM)
This directory includes links to information guides on general cancer and prostate cancer. These information guides provide general disease information, causes and risk factors, signs and symptoms. treatments, and UMM resources.
