Additional
Health Information Resources
MedlinePlus
This is a consumer-oriented Web site established by the National Library of
Medicine, the world's largest biomedical library. An alphabetical list of "Health
Topics" consists of over 300 specific diseases, conditions and wellness
issues. Each Health Topic page contains links to authoritative information on
that subject, as well as an optional link to a pre-formulated MEDLINE search
which provides journal article citations on the subject. Look for the Interactive
Health Tutorials, which use animated graphics explain procedures or conditions
in easy-to-read language. Additional MEDLINEplus resources include physician
and hospital directories, several online medical dictionaries, and consumer
drug information available by generic or brand name.
PubMed
PubMed is the National Library of Medicine's search interface for MEDLINE, NLM's
premier bibliographic database covering the fields of medicine, nursing, dentistry,
veterinary medicine, the health care system, and the preclinical sciences. MEDLINE
contains over 11 million bibliographic citations and author abstracts from more
than 4,000 biomedical journals. Coverage is worldwide, but most records are
from English-language sources or have English abstracts. View HS/HSL's list
of selected search terms to use when searching PubMed
for articles on parish nursing.

here at the HS/HSL, we encourage you to look over the list and annotations.
Then use the links to get to the sites. Please be sure to read HS/HSL's information
